Terms of Service
Last updated: July 8, 2026
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using RecommendHQ (“Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and accounts. The Service is operated under the trading name RecommendHQ, UK. You can reach us via our contact page or by email at legal@recommendhq.com.
2. Description of Service
RecommendHQ is an AI visibility & GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) platform that measures and tracks how large language models (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews) recommend your brand in response to category queries. We provide R-Score analytics, citation gap analysis, and actionable recommendations.
3. Accounts & Access
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. RecommendHQ uses passwordless (magic-link) authentication. You may not share login access across organizations. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Acceptable Use
You must not use the Service to:
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract our proprietary scoring models.
- Conduct automated abuse of the free scan endpoint beyond its stated rate limits.
- Submit false or misleading information about domains you do not own or represent.
- Run an audit on, or generate a report about, a third party’s brand or domain without a legitimate business reason to assess it, or present an audit inaccurately or in a way that misrepresents what it measures.
- Violate any applicable law or third-party rights.
5. Billing & Subscriptions
Paid plans begin with a 14-day free trial that requires no credit card. We will email you before the trial ends. To continue afterwards you add a payment method and your chosen plan begins. Your trial never converts to a paid plan automatically; billing only ever starts on a card you actively add. Once a paid plan starts, it is billed monthly or annually via Stripe and renews automatically (your card is charged each billing period) until you cancel. Monthly plans may be cancelled at any time, with access continuing until the end of the billing period; annual plans are non-refundable after 30 days.
US & other customers. Wherever you are, the deal is the same: your 14-day trial never auto-converts, billing starts only on a card you actively add, and your plan then renews automatically until you cancel. Monthly plans can be cancelled anytime from your account settings (no email or phone call required) and stay active until the end of the period you’ve paid for; we don’t pro-rate partial months. Annual plans are refundable within the first 30 days and non-refundable after that. Most countries outside the UK and Europe have no statutory cooling-off period for digital services, but this policy applies to everyone.
Consumer cancellation rights. If you are a consumer in the UK (or another jurisdiction with equivalent distance-selling rules), you have a statutory 14-day right to cancel a distance contract. By starting a paid plan and choosing to access the digital service immediately, you agree the service begins during that period; once it has been fully provided for the period you paid for, the statutory cancellation right no longer applies. This does not affect your other legal rights.
Pitch Pack (one-off audits). The Pitch Pack is a one-time purchase of a fixed number of AI Recommendation Audits, sold without a subscription and with no recurring charge; payment is taken once via Stripe and your audits do not expire. Each audit is delivered digitally and on demand, so redeeming an audit begins immediate performance of that audit: to the extent you have a statutory cancellation right, you agree it is waived for each audit at the moment you redeem it, and redeemed audits are non-refundable. If you have not redeemed any audits, or an audit fails on our side, contact us and we will refund or make it right. You may only run audits on domains you own, represent, or otherwise have a legitimate business reason to assess, and you are responsible for how you present the resulting report (see §4 and §8).
Prices are in USD. RecommendHQ is not currently VAT-registered, so no VAT is added; sales tax, VAT or GST may be applied at checkout based on your location, and this will be updated if and when tax registration applies.
6. Intellectual Property
The R-Score methodology, brand, and all software are the exclusive property of RecommendHQ. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive license to use the Service for your internal business purposes. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or sub-license any part of the Service.
7. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of uninterrupted or error-free operation or any specific uptime. R-Scores reflect statistical estimates derived from sampled LLM outputs and are not guarantees of any specific model behavior. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the preceding 3 months. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under law.
Third-party names & illustrative data. Third-party brand names, logos and trademarks are the property of their respective owners; any reference is nominative and does not imply affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement. Where rankings or scores are marked as illustrative or sample (for example, preview entries in the AI Recommendation Index), they are examples only and do not represent measured results for any named brand.
Third-party AI surfaces. The Service depends on third-party AI surfaces (including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews) that may change, degrade, rate-limit or become unavailable without notice. Google AI Overviews results are obtained through a licensed SERP-data provider whose terms grant pass-through rights for use in the Service, including in reports. We are not responsible for such changes and do not warrant continued coverage of any specific surface. R-Scores are not professional, financial, legal or marketing advice.
8. Your Indemnity
You agree to indemnify RecommendHQ against claims arising from your misuse of the Service or from domains, content or information you submit that you do not own or have the right to use.
9. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages or changes at third-party AI surfaces and infrastructure providers.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory consumer-protection rules, or the right to bring proceedings in the courts, of the country where you live; those local rights are unaffected.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified via email or an in-app banner at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
